Help gain skills to those in need, because of financial hardship by being out-of-work
5.7 Since Anglo American acquired the Woodsmith Project in March 2020, the Foundation has received £7million to enable it to support projects that are aligned to its charitable objectives.
5.8 Since construction started in 2017 the Foundation has supported approximately 700 projects, from small grants of £5,000 or less to large projects such as the Achieve education programme, which the Foundation co-funds with Anglo American.
5.9 Alongside the funding it provides, it is embedded into communities to help encourage partnerships, make connections and create the conditions for change locally.
5.10 Longer term, the Foundation will be funded by receiving a percentage of revenue from the Woodsmith Project, which could amount to approximately £12million per year when the project is at full production. This will help the Foundation to deliver to its ambition on creating generational change.
